The dry, hot days of summer are here, and the farm has settled into a familiar rhythm. We start early to beat the heat, caring for the flock, herd, and orchard while the mornings are still cool.
The hens are weathering the summer well, and while production naturally ebbs and flows with the season, we still have plenty of eggs to share. Thanks to our new self-serve refrigerator at the bottom of the driveway, we’re able to keep eggs stocked, even through the summer heat. If you’re heading to or from Table Mountain, stop by and pick up a carton!
Our meat chickens are growing quickly and enjoying their days on pasture. Happy, healthy birds will be ready for the freezer in late summer, depending on their hatch date. If you’d like to reserve one, we’d be happy to add you to the list.
